For the Chef Profile assignment, you will first need to find your chef.  Good places to start include newspapers and local magazines.
Selected Web Resources:

Chef biographies from About.com

Chicago Tribune – use the search box to find articles about chefs

New York Times - use the search box to find articles about chefs

Art Culinaire Chef Index – find your chef and then find the books in the LRC reference section

National Restaurant Association – Chef Profiles (currently profiles two Chicago chefs)

Pastryscoop.com – Transcripts of online chats with pastry chefs & baking experts

Chicago Magazine – use the search box to find articles about chefs

New York Magazine - use the search box to find articles about chefs

To search CECybrary for magazine & journal articles:

  1. Go to www.cecybrary.com and log in with your portal username and password.
  2. Click on “Find Journal Articles”.
  3. Scroll down and select a database to search -  you will want to try Culinary & Tourism Complete and National Newspapers among others
  4. Try a variety of search terms. When using general terms like “chef”, combine with additional terms to get narrower results.
